2020 Scotts Valley Rotary Club Scholarship Program
Amount:  Deadline: May 8th, 2020
The student requirements are as follows:
1. Must be a resident of the city of Scotts Valley or attend Scotts Valley High School
2. Minimum GPA of 3.0
3. Participation in at least one school-sponsored and one non-school extracurricular activity (e.g., sports, band, volunteer work, student council, newspaper, clubs)
4. Consideration is given to financial need, but need is not a requirement.
An application is considered complete if the following documents are submitted by the deadline below:
1. A letter of interest from the student addressed to the Rotary Club of Scotts Valley. The letter should include information about college plans and goals, with a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 750. Please include your email address and phone number.
2. A copy of the current high school transcript.
3. A summary of achievements, activities, and community involvement.
4. A statement regarding financial need, if that is a consideration.

Young Historian Award 
Amount:$500 Deadline: May 13, 2020
The Young Historian Award will be offered annually to an individual or group who has made a significant contribution to the study, conservation/preservation, or enhancement of the history of the Pajaro Valley. Open to students who: are 16-25 years of age; have not received compensation for the activity or project other than for materials, travel expenses or other out-of-pocket costs related to the activity or project; have not received the Young Historians Award.

Caring Essay Scholarship for High School Juniors and Seniors
Amount: $100 - $350                Deadline: May 15, 2020
Criteria: Opens: March 15, 2020
1. Choose one category: Children, Animals, Reforestation or Elderly. 
2. Write a 500 or more word essay addressing the caring actions you would take to make change for the better in your chosen category.

Scholarship Opportunities for students whose parents have been fatally or seriously injured on the job. 
Deadline: May 15, 2020     Award: $1,000 - $10,000

Eligibility: 1) Between 16-25 years old. 2)Your parent/legal guardian was killed on the job or had a serious injury that has significantly reduced your family's financial income. 3)You're enrolled, accepted or applying as a full or part-time student at a university, college or vocational school. 4)Show financial need (FAFSA) 5)Student applicants and/or parent are not re queried to be a legal resident of CA or live in CA. 

B.Davis Scholarship

Deadline: May 22, 2020
Criteria: There is no age restriction. Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year and next. This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.
Description: This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post-secondary institution.
Award: $1,000

Alice B. Woolsey Scholarship
Deadline: May 18, 2020
Criteria: Be a graduating senior who was a graduate of New Brighton Middle School; submit a completed scholarship application by May 18, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.; have accepted as a full-time student at an accredited college or paid upon confirmation of Community College registration before June 30. 
Description: To support and further the education of students in our community, and through the gift of funds in loving memory of Alice B. Wolsey, former Soquel teacher, the district has established one scholarship of $500.00 to be awarded to a worthy high school graduating senior who was a graduate of New Brighton Middle School.

Jackie Herrera Scholarship
May 30, 2020 Amount: $400 
The annual Jackie Herrera scholarship has opened up for any self identifying women graduating high school or first year transfer who will be going on to a four year university for the 2020-2021 school year. This year we will be awarding a minimum of four scholarships worth $400 each. The application can be found here, it’s due May 30th, 2020 by 11:59pm.
