Criteria: Entering or already pursuing a college degree and have ties to Santa Cruz County
Description: Student will pursue a career in the Military - especially as an Officer -OR - student has a parent, sibling or grandparent who has or had served in the military - OR - a student who is closely related to an MOAA member. Must have school activities, community service, leadership and provide transcripts. Essay required. Letters of recommendation required - possibly. Mail in the application. Local scholarship.

PAFMG Pre-Medicine Scholarship
Deadline: April 1, 2017
Criteria: Student plans to become a doctor (MD) and selects a college major that will prepare them for this career. GPA in top 20% of class (verified by transcript). Demonstrates need for financial assistance to attend a 4-year college or university (verified by FAFSA, SAR, and parent's tax returns).

Sons of Italy Watsonville Lodge #2016
Deadline: April 3, 2017
Criteria: Applicant must be of Italian heritage or related to a member of Sons of Italy Lodge #2016, GPA of 3.0 and live in Santa Cruz county boundary.
Description: Two scholarships will be awarded this year. Students pursuing studies in the field of Agriculture Science should apply for the Andrew H. Malatesta Agriculture Science Scholarship. Pick up an application in the counseling office and submit it along with a transcript and minimum of two letters of recommendation from a teacher, administrators or members of the community.

Microsoft disAbility Scholarship
Deadline: April 15, 2017
Criteria: (1) Be a current high school senior living with a disability (as defined by WHO), whether that be visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, speech or other disability. (2) Plan to attend an undergraduate program in a 2 or 4-year University/College or Technical College in the fall of the academic year following high school graduation. (3) Declare a major in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, law, business, or a related field (e.g.paralegal, pre-law, finance, business administration, marketing). (4) Demonstrates a passion for technology. (5) Demonstrates leadership at school and/or in the community. (6) Have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. (7) Require financial assistance to attend college. (8) Enrollment status must be full-time or half-time.
Description: This Scholarship will be awarded to promising high school seniors who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and have a financial need.

Rotary Club of Santa Cruz Sunrise Youth Scholarships
Deadline: April 15, 2016 (***2017 TBA***)
Criteria: For high school seniors planning to further their education at either an academic or vocational college. Both academic performance and a need for financial assistance are taken into account as well as active involvement in the school and community.
Description: Rotary scholarships are available for both academic and vocational fields of study. There are three categories of scholarships available.
Amount: up to $4,000 (University: $1,00 per year. Community College: $700 per year)

Richard Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: For graduating seniors who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and who has achieved scholastic achievement are eligible.
Description:The Italian Catholic Federation, Branch 227, St.Joseph's Church in Capitola is offering a college scholarship to further the education of students who achieve a total cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. This is the Richard Robinson Memorial Scholarship. Mr.Robinson is a graduate of Soquel High School; Class of 1967. This memorial scholarship is for Soquel High Only.

Hellenic Cultural Institute Student Scholarship Program
Deadline: April 20, 2017
Criteria: Students must be seniors bound for college, a grade point average of 3.0 and above, exemplary classroom conduct, a brief biographical sketch, and completion of the application form, a minimum 600-word essay on: "Hippocrates: Why is he considered the Father of Medicine?"
Description: The institute offers scholarships to high school students of the Central Coast, who have demonstrated an interest in the area of Hellenic History and Civilization, by way of Greek literature, drama, poetry, and the arts, as well as other aspects of Greek culture.

Student-View Scholarship Program
Deadline: April 22, 2017
Criteria: For high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. Simply log on to http://www.student-view.com/
and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area.
Description: The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. The scholarship winner will be announced in May 2017.
Amount: One $4,000 scholarship; Two $1,000 scholarships; Ten $500 scholarships.

Big Stick Surfing Association
Deadline: April 25, 2017
Criteria: Open to any student who will be enrolling full-time at an institution of higher learning or a certified trade school may apply for this scholarship.
Description: This scholarship will be awarded to a small number of students from Santa Cruz County who have demonstrated scholastic ability, and a commitment to ocean sports, the preservation of the ocean environment and ecology, good citizenship, and sportsmanship.
Amount: $100 - $700
