AES Engineers Scholarship

Criteria: This is a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, not GPA. Must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident or eligible non U.S.citizen.
Description: Students must submit an essay between 500 and 1,000 words (prompts on their website).
Amount: $500  
College Jump Start Scholarship
Deadline: October 17, 2017 at midnight
Criteria: (1) Must be a high school 10th-12th grader (2) Be a U.S.Citizen or legal resident (3) plan to attend an accredited 2-year, 4-year vocational/trade school in the U.S. (4) Be committed to using education to better your life and that of your family and/or community.

Horatio Alger Scholarship
Deadline: October 25, 2016
Criteria:Applicants must be enrolled full time in a U.S. high school and plan to graduate in Spring/Summer 2016, as well as plan to enter college in the fall.  Students also must show financial need, show involvement in curricular and community activities, have a minimum GPA of 2.00, and be U.S. citizens.
Description: This scholarship rewards students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education,and a desire to contribute to society.
Amount: up to $20,000

Art Rosenbaum Writing Scholarship - Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame
Deadline: October 31, 2016
Criteria :The nominees may be juniors or seniors who have written sports-related articles covering (or related to) high school sports. (1)Nominations must be submitted by the instructor or administrator only. (2) Complete Art Rosenbaum Application. (3) Submit articles printed in school publications from the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school year.
Description: The Sports Writing Scholarships were established in 1991 to honor Art Rosenbaum, retired sports editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, who began his career covering high school sports.
Award: $2,500 first place, $1,500 second place, $1,000 third place.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: October 31, 2016
Criteria: Available to current seniors carrying a minimum of 3.00 GPA (must show 3.00 GPA at end of junior year) who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.
Description: Coca-Cola is awarding $3,000,000 in scholarships to 250 dedicated, motivated and involved seniors.
Amount: $10,000 to $20,000

Stokes Educational Scholarship Program
October 31, 2016
Criteria: The Stokes Program is open to high school seniors, particularly minority students, planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. Students must be U.S. citizens. A 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale is preferred. A minimum SAT/College Board score of 1600 (1100 Critical Reading and Math, 500 Writing) or ACT of 25.
Description: With the Stokes Program, you will attend college full-time, then work during the summer at NSA's main headquarters in Fort Meade, Maryland, for a minimum of 12 weeks in areas that are related to the course of study.
Amount: Tuition and Mandatory Fees up to $30,000 per year.
