Congrats Soquel High Swimmers!
SHS was the only school in Santa Cruz county with swimmers who qualified for the State meet. A big shout out to Jane Evans, Kailyn Winter, Ella Muzurek, Mason Carlton, Haley Hoeffer, and Katelyn Bettencourt!

2019-20 AP Gov/Honors Econ Mandatory Meeting - May 20
Juniors interested in taking AP Government/Honors Economics next year must attend a mandatory meeting on Monday, May 20 in room 122 to secure their spot in the course. Any student on the roster who does not attend will be removed from the course, and any student not currently on the roster but who wants to be added to it, can do so at this meeting!

New Career Technical Education Course for 2019-20
There is a new hospitality course beginning in the Fall. It will be taught at the boardwalk one afternoon per week and students will get paid to work one Saturday per month. The course will cover marketing, culinary, safety, human resources, finance and business. Each student will receive a seasons pass and family passes to the boardwalk. Students will receive 10 credits for this course. Interested students should speak with their counselor before the last day of school.

Spring Vocal Concert - May 22
The Spring Vocal Concert will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd at 7:30pm Soquel High School MPR. Tickets are $7 at the door, $10 reserved seats (contact zina at zurquhart@sccs.net). The concert will feature performances by Mixed Chorus, Concert Choir and Jazz Singers. Come out and support our Vocal Department in the final concert of the year!

Job Opportunity
Baymonte’s summer camp program, Summer Quest, is hiring. Students must be 18 in order to apply. The day camp runs from June 17-August 16. Applications are in the counseling office job binder.

Cheerleading Tryouts - May 21-23
2nd round of Cheer tryouts are May 21-23 from 3:00-4:00 in the upper gym.

Spirit Week - May 20-22
May 20 - 'Merica Monday -- wear red, white, and blue
May 21 - Decades Day -- throwback apparel of your choosing, rock your flapper style or disco diva or grunge flannel, etc.
May 22 - Blue & Gold Day

Yearbooks - May 22
Yearbooks will be distributed to seniors starting May 22nd who have no debts, except current semester textbooks. Yearbooks may still be purchased for $85.00. Purchase them from Ms. Lambert in the Finance Office or order online at www.jostensyearbooks.com.

Senior Awards Night - May 29
Senior Awards Night will be Wednesday, May 29th at 6:30 PM in the MU Room. Senior Awards Night provides an opportunity to congratulate Soquel High seniors who are receiving awards and scholarships. To have individual scholarship and awards information included in the printed program for the Awards Night, each senior needs to notify Ms. Elizondo in the Counseling Office by Wednesday, May 15th.

Attention 2019-20 Athletes! - May 30
Athletic Physicals for the 2019-20 school year will be Thursday, May 30. Seniors-5:30, Juniors-6:00, Sophomores and incoming Freshmen-6:30. $25 fee. Makes checks to Soquel High Fund.
