Scholarships for Seniors!
Hey Class of 2020, would you like to be nominated for scholarships? Please be sure to complete the Senior Scholarship Profile. The scholarship committee starts meeting later this month, and wants to give away money, but they we need student profiles! Click here to fill out the Profile Form.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Capitola Auto Mall Dealer Group are giving away a brand new Toyota Prius LE, Subaru Crosstrek, or $25,000 cash, as well as ten $1,000 cash prizes, and over 100 additional prizes! Theater Tryouts - Oct 8
A Christmas Carol will be starting tryouts soon. An informational meeting and sign ups will take place 10/8 @ 3pm in the MPR.

ELAC Meeting - Oct 8
ELAC (English Learners Advisory Committee) is a group made up of parents and staff whose main purpose is to provide support for LEP (Limited English Proficiency) students and their parents. This support includes providing parents and students with information about grades, attendance, standardized tests and computer training sessions on using the Parent Portal. Parents are invited to join the first ELAC meeting of the year, which will be held on Tuesday, October 8th in Room 202 at 6pm. For more information about ELAC, click here.

Grad Night Tickets on Sale - Oct 9
Grad Night tickets will be sold on Wednesday, October 9th in the quad during break. Tickets are $150 each, and may be purchased with cash, check or credit card. You can still get Drive For School tickets with the purchase of your Grad Night ticket, but only for 2 more weeks!

Soquel High Fund Meeting - Oct 9
Parents, please join the SHF officers, Principal O’Meara and our amazing student representative for our monthly SHF meeting on Wednesday, October 9th at 7pm in Room 312.

Homecoming - Oct 11
The afternoon parade at 1:25pm will go through the Soquel Village starting at Daubenbiss Ave. turning right onto Soquel Drive then turning right onto Porter St. and finally turning right onto Walnut St before ending back on Daubenbiss. Expect traffic delays from 1:00-3:00. The football game and night parade will be that night at 7:30 at the Soquel High Stadium. Hope to see you there! Go Knights!

Homecoming Dance Snack Donations would be much appreciated. Donations can be dropped off Friday, October 11th, in the front office during school hours or in the MPR between 6-7pm. We could use bottled waters, baked goods, and popcorn. Contact Layla Dawson @ for more info. Thanks so much!

College Can Change Your Life! - Oct 12
For students from 8th-12th grade who are wondering Why should I go to college? Do I need to know what I want to do when I grow up? How do I figure out what I want from college? How do I choose a college? Are all colleges the same? there is an event just for you! A presentation by Maria Furtado, Executive Director of Colleges that Change Lives!, will be givenat the Mello Center at Watsonville High School on Wednesday, October 23rd at 6pm. College Essay Application Workshop - Oct 12, 23
High school juniors and seniors who are working on the essay portion of their college application are encouraged to attend this workshop. Session 1 will be on Saturday, October 12th at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education from 10:30-2pm, and Session 2 will be on Wednesday, October 23rd at Pajaro Valley High School from 1:30-3:30pm. Bring your ideas, an outline or a first draft. You will be assigned an individual coach to develop your essay. To register, go to

Senior Portrait Re-Takes - Oct 12
